Google Here We Come

First Step of Search Engine Optimization:

The first step of any Search Engine Optimization Project is announcement of the launch of the website. This birth registration process is called indexing. Simply speaking, if the search engine do not know of your existence then they cannot send you any traffic. In terms of indexing your website, google is pretty easy going. Just install wordpress on your website and in a couple of days google will index you irrespective of wether you have posted any data or not. Let me point out, Google holds almost 73% of the search engine market and the other 27% is held by Bing (after acquiring Yahoo). There are a lot of other search engines too but their market share is too minimal to take them into consideration. In terms of indexing, Bing defers from google. In order to get indexed in Bing, it is very much necessary that you claim your website. A lot of website owners forget this very important step.

Search Engine Optimization

TWO Part Search Engine Optimization:

Search engine optimization is a two prone formula. Getting atleast one correct goes a long way to keep you in the good books of search engines. The first part is the website / webpage itself. This portion is covered under on page optimization. On page SEO covers relevance of topic (keyword density), level/importance of input (h1, h2, h3 tags) and uniqueness of content (unique content). The second part is the external factors affecting the website. It is covered under Off page Optimization. Off page SEO looks into popularity (no of backlinks to the site) and level of trust (do follow/ no follow).
